Rohtang In The Rain

Anurag and his biker friends are now relaxing in a Manali resort.

They started this morning from Sarchu.

While ascending Rohtang Pass, they faced rain - not ordinary rain but a chilled one! Got fully drenched and had shivering bones.

Badly need hot water bath and some sleep.

Anurag's touch screen on cell phone has decided not to function.

The boyz have filled up the petrol tanks as tomorrow is supposed to be Bharat Bandh against petrol rate hike.

Let us see when they reach Gurgaon tomorrow evening.

Bye, Beauty .. Phir Milenge..

The descent begins ..

All good things must come to an end one day.

The biker boys soaked themselves in the amazing beauty of Pangong Tso on Thursday evening. Got up early to have another look at it and bid adieu with a heavy heart. It's a big and beautiful lake - partly in India and partly in China - but the irony is that the water on the Indian side is saline while it is sweet on the other end. The stones on the road continuously flew upwards, defying gravity, and hit the bikes which needed repairs badly when they reached back Leh in the late afternoon. They went around the markets in the evening and enjoyed fast food at the German Bakery.

This morning at around 7.30 am, they have left for Upshi - an almost flat run, by hill standards, of 50 kms - and will go on  till they reach Sarchu for a night halt.

Let us see when they get up tomorrow morning. Everyday, they have been planning an early assault but get invariably delayed as they never had such sound sleep. They should reach Manali by tomorrow evening and Gurgaon by Monday evening - a full day behind schedule - if there are no hassles waiting to test them further.

Well done, boyz!

The rest from the horses' mouths once they are back...
